Who Started Tony’s Pizza

Luckily, our story began over 40 years ago in New York. Perhaps, we could actually say it truly started in Calabria, Italy because that’s where our family roots began. Eventually, our owners and brothers – Vinny, Tony and Mario – wound up in Brooklyn surrounded by their huge Italian family. There, they learned to master Italian dishes and NY-style pizza.

Finally, they headed south and ended up in North Carolina. First, in Jacksonville and then they trekked west towards Charlotte, Hickory and the triad.  At these lovely spots, they opened Tony’s Pizza and Mario’s Pizza.
