What Makes Our New York Pizza So Special?

In the world of pizza, the two main styles are deep dish (also called Chicago-style) and thin crust (the type most commonly served in New York). “Thin crust” pizza is only thin in comparison to the Chicago deep dish, which is more like a a deep bowl of dough stuffed with toppings. Some thin crust pizza are extremely thin and crusty, while others are more doughy.

In New York City, the thin crust style is flat and chewy, with just a bit of a crispy texture. Slices are typically very large and fold-able, which makes them the perfect street food to grab while you’re on the go. The ingredients go all the way to the edge of the crust, so you get a good cheese/sauce-to-dough ratio.

Our New York style pizzas have all these features, and for good reason; we got started as a small family pizzeria in Brooklyn. Italian food has been our family’s passion for generations, and some of our recipes date back to our family’s origins in Italy. We love sharing our authentic pizza and pasta dishes here in North Carolina and have locations in Huntersville, Mooresville, Hickory, and throughout the city of Charlotte. Specialty Pizza at Tony’s

Cheese pizza is what you’ll most commonly see on the streets of New York, but here at Tony’s we also offer a variety of tradition and unique pizza toppings. We sell pizza by the slice or by the pie, and you can choose which toppings you like best or select one of our specialties:

  • The Worx – This is our “everything” pizza. It comes loaded with toppings including both meats and veggies.
  • Pizza Bianco – Our white pizza has ricotta cheese instead of a traditional tomato sauce, as well as plenty of fresh garlic.
  • 5 Boroughs – Named for the 5 boroughs of New York, this pizza is our “meat lover’s” option. It is topped with ham, bacon, pepperoni, ground beef, and sausage.
  • The Greenhouse – Our greenhouse pizza is for vegetarians and anyone who loves vegetable toppings. It is packed with tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, black olives, spinach, and mushrooms.
  • Spicy Buffalo Chicken – This pizza has bite-sized pieces of our buffalo chicken, along with bacon and onions.

Additionally, we offer both strombolis and calzones. Strombolis are like a pizza pocket, with dough surrounding mozzerella cheese, sauce, and your choice of up to three toppings. Calzones, on the other hand, have both mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, along with one other topping of your choice.

Do you have a loyalty program?

Can I place a large order?

We recommend calling in larger catering orders at least 24 to 48 hours in advance. Not only do we offer pizza, but we also have party trays for a variety of our dishes including salads, spaghetti, lasagna, baked ravioli, eggplant/chicken parmigiana, and cannoli.

What daily pizza specials to you offer?

We have new pizza deals available every day. For lunch, we offer three different deals, available daily until 4 PM:

  • Pepperoni or cheese slice with a side and drink
  • 10″ one-topping pizza with a drink
  • Small sub with a side and drink
