Better yet, with Italian recipes that trace all the way back to Calabria, Italy, we have all sorts of authentic Italian fare to satisfy your cravings. Likewise, we have more than just pizza if you’re bringing a crowd who may want something a little different. So, stop searching for a nearby pizza shop and come grab a bite!
If you’re just in the mood for pizza, check out some of our favorite pizza pairings!
As we mentioned, we have NY-Style pizza. More specifically, it’s Brooklyn-style with a thin, slightly chewy crust. Toppings reach all the way to the edge so that you don’t miss one delicious bite. Better yet, our slices are huge. Therefore, a large pizza can usually feed the whole family. However, if you love our crust, pair your pizza with our famous garlic knots. With a pleasant punch of garlic, these doughy delights pair perfectly with pizza.
In addition to garlic knots, we have two other bread options: garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread. We make each with thick Italian bread, loads of garlic and marinara sauce to dunk it.
Planning a fun event? Or, are you just hungry (don’t worry, we get it!)? Add wings with your pizza. Choose from traditional bone-in wings or grab some boneless bites. Better yet, get both so that everyone is happy.
At all our nearby pizza shop locations, choose from these sauces:
In fact, if you’re craving wings, check out our Sunday special: 19″ one-topping pizza plus 10 boneless wings.
Don’t forget about the plants! Add some extra veggies to your meal with one of our entrée-sized salads.
Our options at Tony’s Pizza include:
Other than our Craisin’ salad (a scrumptious mix of Craisin’ cranberries, sugared walnuts, and feta cheese over a bed of spinach), we make our salads with the perfect blend of romaine and iceberg lettuces with their own toppings.
Likewise, if you’re feeding a crowd, you can order our garden salad and Greek salad in party tray size.
Let’s face it, fried food is delightful paired with pizza.
Here are some customer favorites:
In fact, you could make a whole meal out of just appetizers. But, then again, that pizza…
We’ve been so caught up with nearby pizza shop options, that we nearly forget about one of the best ways to finish your meal – authentic Italian desserts! Choose from:
Again, if you’re feeding a crowd, we offer cannoli trays. Just give us a call and we’ll get it ready for you!

Generally, Americans believe crust covered with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese is the original version of pizza. Although, well before tomato-based pizza, our ancestors consumed a version of pizza bianca. If you’re looking for great-tasting white pizza near me, continue that tradition and stop by Tony’s Pizza in the Charlotte and Hickory area.
Throughout the centuries, a form of flatbread with toppings sated appetites across the globe. For instance, ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians baked pita bread and topped it with home-grown ingredients. Generally, initial versions didn’t use tomatoes. Therefore, these early concoctions resembled the white pizza most people know today.
Around 1550, Italians began growing and adding tomatoes into their dishes. In fact, prior to that, Europeans believed tomatoes were poisonous. Once Americans figured out the benefits of tomatoes, news traveled back to the Old World. Finally, around the late 1880s Italian bakers began topping pizzas with tomatoes.
Meanwhile, many New Yorkers were clamoring for Italian flatbread or pizza. As this pizza-love spread, so did variations. Chefs experimented with thicker crusts, varying toppings and different sauces.
Obviously, the main characteristic of pizza bianca is its lack of tomato sauce. Without it, this pizza has a white appearance. Hence, its nickname.
While there are different versions of white pizza, the traditional Roman pizza bianca uses a few simple ingredients: a thin crust, olive oil, garlic, and mozzarella cheese. Occasionally, chefs use ricotta and other creative pizza toppings.
Simple yet satisfying, pizza bianca is a comforting meal. It’s even better when it’s from Italians who know their way around a kitchen and have family recipes to back them. With roots in Calabria, Italy, brothers Vinny, Tony, and Mario grew up in a large Italian family in Brooklyn, NY. From there, they relocated to North Carolina in 1981 and began selling their delicious pizzas.
In addition to Tony’s authentic NY-style pizza, we also make a traditional white pizza. We top our version with ricotta, fresh garlic, and mozzarella cheese. Plus, we offer plenty of regular and premium toppings to individualize your pizza:
We know – it’s a long list! However, we aim to please and create a variety for all taste buds. Plus, you can try a different combination for a new flavor each time.

Convenience, customer service, and great tasting food make Tony’s Pizza one of the area’s favorite restaurants.
If you’ve ever lived in or visited New York City, you know there is something special about their pizza. Some say it’s the tap water. Others say it is the decades-old pizza ovens. However, here at Tony’s Pizza, we know the truth: you can have delicious New York style pizza anywhere, even here in North Carolina, if you start with an authentic Italian family recipe and use techniques that have been passed down through the generations. That’s why our pizza restaurants in Huntersville, NC and the surrounding area are fan favorites.
In the world of pizza, the two main styles are deep dish (also called Chicago-style) and thin crust (the type most commonly served in New York). “Thin crust” pizza is only thin in comparison to the Chicago deep dish, which is more like a a deep bowl of dough stuffed with toppings. Some thin crust pizza are extremely thin and crusty, while others are more doughy.
In New York City, the thin crust style is flat and chewy, with just a bit of a crispy texture. Slices are typically very large and fold-able, which makes them the perfect street food to grab while you’re on the go. The ingredients go all the way to the edge of the crust, so you get a good cheese/sauce-to-dough ratio.
Our New York style pizzas have all these features, and for good reason; we got started as a small family pizzeria in Brooklyn. Italian food has been our family’s passion for generations, and some of our recipes date back to our family’s origins in Italy. We love sharing our authentic pizza and pasta dishes here in North Carolina and have locations in Huntersville, Mooresville, Hickory, and throughout the city of Charlotte. Our sister restaurant, Mario’s Pizza, also has locations throughout the Triad region, in Winston-Salem, Clemmons, High Point, and Greensboro.
Cheese pizza is what you’ll most commonly see on the streets of New York, but here at Tony’s we also offer a variety of tradition and unique pizza toppings. We sell pizza by the slice or by the pie, and you can choose which toppings you like best or select one of our specialties:
Additionally, we offer both strombolis and calzones. Strombolis are like a pizza pocket, with dough surrounding mozzerella cheese, sauce, and your choice of up to three toppings. Calzones, on the other hand, have both mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, along with one other topping of your choice.
All pasta dishes come with a side salad and your choice of dinner roll or garlic knots. At the end of your meal, we also offer a selection of Italian desserts, including:
Availability does vary by location, so feel free to call ahead and ask your server if you have your heart set on a certain dish.
